bluenoseshelley wrote:what a great choice for your daughter i have this chart somewhere too i keep telling myself i will stitch it someday i am 26 and would still put this on my wall now so im sure your daughter will treasure this for a long time to come i have some gold and pearl kreinik i can send you if you like as it can be quite expensive if your not sure about it let me know and i will pop some in the post to you

Aw thanks, your very kind :) but I have a few stitchy 'essentials' to order anyway so I'll bung some of the kreinik in when I order :) This design seems to be stitching up quite fast, and I'm not the fastest stitcher so maybe you'll be able to squeeze it in somewhere in your stitching schedule?! :)

Argh disaster has struck!! I have spent all day frogging all the stitches from the last 2 days, which basically means that I have even less stitches in than in my progress pic  I think I have spent more time ripping stitches out of this project that I have putting them in. I fear that its a doomed project.......
Still I *am* going to finish it, I think that maybe I ought to invest in a fabric pencil and grid it?! before theres another visit from the froggy!!!!

Oh dear, sorry the Frog has visited!
But this is a gorgeous project, and I agree with Shelley, I'm 27 and would do this for myself & have it on my wall! :D
Looking forward to hearing how the sparklies work out for you too.

Sorry about the frogging, but do stick with it! It's one of the prettiest designs I've seen and I love the fabric!

A small update, It was around this point that I realised I'd made a mistake and had to unpick everything to about halfway up the tree, so I ended up with pretty much what was in the first pic!! it was very frustrating as I seem to end up spending more time unpicking than stitching with this project!! But now I'm back to roughly where I was I'm getting excitied about stitching more of it especially now my Kreinik 32 arrived this morning  I'm looking forward to giving it ago later on. Now I'm going to hurry up and do all the housework so I can stitch more of it :)

the grassy area at the bottom has about 6 different shades in so that bit is taking a bit longer. The trees are not so bad they are blocks of colour.

It's looking so pretty :applesauce: Isn't it amazing how housework just gets in the way of our stitching time? My husband also teases me about the dust collecting in the house while I sit and stitch. I notice he never offers to help clean though

After a little break from this to stitch the easter egg for the exchange and the freebie bookmark kit for mothers day I started work on this again. I'm very happy to report no more visits from the frog!! :) I added the pearl to the wings and it gives a little sparkle to the wings, but the fabric has overwhelmed it I think and it can be difficult to see.... had the fabric been plain I think the wings would show better. Anyway this is my progress as of today

Image

I reckon I'm just coming up to half way now??!

And this is the Mothers Day bookmark for my MIL.... shes a very practical person so I left out the scattered stitches and back it with that white sticky felt that Kell (?) suggested, which I think works better than card. So thanks for that tip Kell :)
