Such a sweet design! It looks darling. I'm impressed with the perfectly placed french knot. Mine are usually all off to one side or another. Great work :applesauce:

To be honest, I impressed myself with that too - LOL! I'm useless at them but was extra-specially careful with this one as I wanted it to work out right and on this occasion I got my wish. Phew!

Looking forward to doing some backstitching tonight. :)

I actually realised last night that I'd made rather a booboo on the stitchingthough. The rainbow at the bootom with the Charlie's Ark logo is a full 10 stitched too far to the right (dunno how I managed that!) and I only realised when I went to do the lettering last night. However, I think the placement still works, so rather than unpick it and set me back, I made an executive decision to leave it where it is and live with it as I'm certain that if I don't mention it, then nobody will notice. Except I just DID mention it. Oh. I'm a bit of an idiot that way - LOL!

Charlie is lovely Kell :applesauce: :applesauce: and congrats on your adaptation.( I would never have noticed)I think adaptation is one of the hardest things to do in cross stitch when we've found an un-do-able error..makes the piece unique though

It wasn't exactly adapting - the design is stitched exactly as charted - justy 10 stitches over - LOL! Actually, I think I prefer the placement this way as it seems to me it would be awfully far over if in the original place, so it's turned out to be a bit of a serendipitous error in the long run. ;)

He's stitched up really well Kell, I'm planning two Charlie designs myself, from the calender freebie, they'll be for my nephew who will be 4 in August :)

looking forward to seeing more of the backstitch, I just love how it all seems to come together with it.

It's amazing how much definition the backstitching gives to the piece! Looks great

The colour of the backstitching thread is really lovely, and the backstitch definitely adds detail!

Great progress! Is the backstitch on Charlie also sketchy? I mean, that it doesn't do the whole line? I like that sort of effect on these watercolour/sketch type pictures.

Yes, it's sketchy lines, which I usually prefer as it gives a softer effect. :)
