I love the garnet..my birth stone..the different reds and the little bit of very light colour give it so much richness and depth and it looks shiny. Great stitching :applesauce: :applesauce:

I agree with the other poster: the gem looks real (in fact, I thought it was an embellishment at first sight). Your two weeks spent working on it were worth it I think. Happy stitching! :applesauce:

I hope you don't mind me posting weekly progress pics! I thought it would also keep me on track because as I'm stitching I don't think I've done much until I look back at the photo's.

Anyway, here is week 3's photo. The lighting was pretty dark hence the tinge to the photo.

Just seen the date on the pic...I had to recharge batteries and forgot to set date again. DERRRR

The more pics the better! You've made such great progress! :applesauce: Is the garnet an actual bead you attach or is it stitched? It looks so real, like it isnt't thread.
