Lisa I really admire your patience in stitching this fabulous yet complicated design!

thanks everyone. Shaun keeps coming up to me when he sees me working on it and asks me to take it out the hoop so he can look at it, and spends 15mins just pointing going "arr" and telling me about all the pirates, fish, birds and cat and mouse

Lisa, your Shaun reminds me of my Alex when he was about 3. I was doing a large cross stitch of loads of animals and he would squeeze himself into the corner behind my sewing chair. He would stand for hours with his thumb in his mouth in fascination as the animals appeared.
He would hate me for telling you this as he is now a strapping 14 year old who towers over me!!
He is still a big softy though!

Your kids sound so sweet Lisa! When mine where little, they were so used to seeing me stitching all the time. When my son was around 6 he wanted to do it too, so I gave him a square of fabric and some thread, and he drew a design of his dad, and stitched along the lines of his drawing. I'll have to put up a picture of it sometime. I'll look forward to seeing the disney princessess you're going to do for your daughter! :D
