thread question - polstitch dragonfloss

Post by *barb* »

I am waiting for some of this thread to come but in the picture the skein is all twisted. I have seen skeins like this on the forum before and always wondered how they worked.

How do you store this? can it be put on a bobbin and do you use 2 starnds like DMC thread or does it come differently...or does it come with instructions for people like me.

My silks from The Thread Gatherer came that way, and I just untwisted it and wound it onto bobbins. I was wondering the same thing when they first came in the mail, but everyone here said it would be OK to put them on bobbins :D

It's normal 6-stranded cotton. Just let the thread untwist naturally from its skein, then wind it onto a bobbin in the usual fashion. You stitch using 2 strands just like with DMC.

Have fun with the thread Barb, they have some stunning colours!!

I know, I been drooling over the website and now have to go and get a cloth to dry my keyboard

I may get some more when I see how I go with the ones I am waiting for.

Try having them as your local cross stitching shop! I can't go in there very often because it's just too tempting!
