Serinde wrote:These designs are very intricate, and the backstitch really makes them special.

I looked up the errata listing at her website, and you are correct to use DMC 610 for backstitching the border.
Really!? Gosh! Thanks, Serinde! :D I really appreciate you doing that. :rose:

I've just finished frogging the 3045...

This is looking fabulous - I love how you suddenly see detail with the added backstitching - like the fingers (no wonder that was tricky  ) Great work :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

It wasn't just tricky, it was horrendously confusing! I really admire me for doing it

Top border and corners backstitching completed. SUCH a relief to see it mistake-free! All those woven 'ropes' required intense concentration - couldn't watch tv and stitch for rhis - and I have 23 more 'knots' to do, plus the other two corners... :boohoo:

I haven't seen this before - it's lovely! The effect of the ropes was well worth the effort, and I love the jewel-toned blues and greens. Beautiful project!

The backstitching is really worth it as it's making the picture 'jump' out. :applesauce:

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone! :D

Yes, it's surprising how the addition of darker edges - which actually darken the picture - make the colours seem brighter. Optical illusion wins the day!

I'm not sure you can see it, but the yellow on the wing is backstitched, as well as the feathery bit of the leading green edge of the wing, and the upper edge of the lower arm. I'm not looking forward to the pink area on the wing - it looks horrendously complicated... I've also done most of the left border. Only two more knots on that side, now.

Yes you can really see the difference where the backstitching is. It looks better and better each bit you do and it's looking brilliant.
