Next up in my rotation is this kit from Dimensions. I originally bought it at the same time as Free Flight just as I was getting back into cross stitch. Then, when my mom saw me doing my projects, she decided to try getting back into it too, so I gave her this kit to work on. After only a few stitches, she decided the black fabric was just too much for her and she gave it back to me.

The black really isn't that bad actually. I have a magnifier with an LED light right on it, so I really don't have any more trouble with it than normal aida. Of course it could be my eyes are so happy to be looking at something larger than 28 count that they don't even register the black.

I bought it from the local Hobby Lobby using a 40% off coupon. It stands on the floor right next to my recliner and I love it. My only complaint is that it's very flimsy, so it falls over easily.

It is a beautiful pattern and I love the kitty on the black. One trick I found that also helps when working on black it a white towel on your lap. Makes it easier to find those holes!!!!

Thanks for the info---sadly there aren't any Hobby Lobby stores in the Tampa area that I am aware of---do you have a link to it from their site? I may be able to hunt one down similar at Joann's or Michaels

That's the trick I've used when working with black or dark blue fabric--was just interested to see if I can find something to magnify and light at the same time, for when I'm working on my haed project

Awesome! I finished this one myself recently! Glad to see another person attempting it. One tiny piece of advice, I know you probably don't need it. There are some parts that call for stitching clack floss on black aida. Do this in blazing bright sunshine a little bit at a time!

The cat's expression is actually one thing that drew me to this kit. That cat looks just like one of our own (except she also has black patches), and she always has that exact expression.
