Here is my stash...

Image

I made the photo black and white and then colored in the parts of my stash so they are not to be confused with the other things I accidentally left in the area when I took my picture. I just learned how to do this with Gimp so it's not perfect but I thought it would be a great opportunity to practice!!

Great stash! :D That's pretty neat how the picture is part black and white and part color.

When I got my Stitchmate, I had to pull all my kits out of their corner to make room for it. I decided to reorganize them so i pulled them from their box. It's kind of funny. I love designing charts and yet I stitch almost exclusively from kits. And so, Kits!

I haven't had the chance to go through them thoroughly so I'm not sure if I am missing any. I think Rose is the one who sent them my way :D

I love the way you did that with the picture Maeflowers. I have gimp too but don't know yet how to use it.
Lovely stash!
:applesauce: :applesauce:

Clockwork I just have this urge to 'get in there' with all those kits. I'd love to rummage through them all!

Why is it, that whenever we see each others stash, it always looks more interesting than our own?

Threadbear- I have no idea how to do MOST things on Gimp. I just learned that bit, from this website.

http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/

Some of it is a bit confusing and I think that may be because the tutorial is probably for a different version than what I have. If you'd like me to explain how to do what I did I can pm you, just let me know :D

PS: Scroll down on that page, the one I used is called Selective Colorization.

Thanks for that tutorial, I've experimented with my own editing program (Photoplus) and found I could do exactly the same thing, cool!

Clockwork, that's a great lot of stash you have. How do you ever decide what to stitch with so much to choose from?

I usually choose by a method of repeatedly narrowing down until I only have one or two options. I keep a really complex catalogue in my head of what i have and what each kit is like. When it's time to pick a new one, I start narrowing down by category. I usually start with size, complexity, and then move onto less concrete things like color and painting-like vs. well defined (whether the foreground elements are very separate or if everything is kind of together like this Image vs this http://www.crossstitchforum.com/gallery ... ic_id=3947" target="_blank) I can usually make a decision by that point and if I can't I have a few more categories I can split down into. Before I came up with that method it sometimes took me a few days to choose a kit. Or, sometimes I gave up and had someone else pick.
I've added 5 since I took that picture. 3 House Mouse kits and 2 watercolor Pooh kits (Piglet and Eeyore) to round off my collection of those.

Everyone has such lovely stash!!

I went ahead and took pictures of mine. This is going to be picture heavy as it is a total of 9 pictures. I think I got it all though.

Image

This is top shelf of small bookshelf in my bedroom. It holds patterns that come in bags (like HAED), and USA Magazines.

Image

On top of the bookshelf in my room are my DMC threads. The plastic bobbin boxes contain all my wound threads. The pink/black box contains all backup threads in baggies by hundreds.

Image

Top of plastic 3 drawer- cabinet. Contains magazines I just got, floss that needs to be put away, and a few printed freebies.

Image

3-drawer plastic cabinet. Top drawer has extra threads (metallics, beads, needles, silks, perle cotton) and kits. Second drawer has crochet cotton, hooks, etc. Third drawer WIPS and fabric and kits

Image

Stitching travel bag. Currently has 4 projects: Quaker, Anniversary Sampler, Frog, and Christmas Dreams. Floss in bobbin boxes, charts, scissors, etc.

Image

Top shelf in large bookshelf in our Den. This shelf contains cross stitch pattern books and leaflets.

Image

Bottom drawer in old dresser. Holds UK stitching magazines.

Image

Middle drawer in old dresser. Holds finished stitching that hasn't been framed or made into something.

Image

Top drawer in old dresser. Holds UK Stitching Magazines, off-size pattern books, and large charts that are not a leaflet.

Man I did not realize how much I have because its separated into different areas of 2 rooms. There are some large plastic tubes of AIDA that sit behind the 3 drawer plastic chest in my bedroom.

HUGS

Clockwork,
I love your stash, all those Dimension Kits .
Now my stash of kits doesn't seem so bad and I feel so much better. Time to go out and buy some more.
It looks like we have a few the same, maybe we should work on them together.
