Just had to share this with you......

Yesterday one of my regulars popped in having just been away on a cruise.

We asked her all the most important questions : Had she got any stitching done and was there someone teaching stitching on board?!!!!

Anyhow, she had a lovely time except for when she disembarked for Morocco (sorry if I've spelt that wrong!)......Apparently the fact that she was so blonde haired and fair skinned created something of a spectacle for the local Gents!!!! The upshot of it was that one eligible bachelor offered her 500 cows in return for becoming his wife!!!!

She said she wouldn't have minded but 'He didn't have any teeth and anyway, what would I do with 500 cows?!'

So all you lovely blondes out there, seeking husbands, or not, just remember on an 'off' day, that at least you are worth 500 cows somewhere in the world!!!!!!

Turkey's the same. They especially like the larger blonde girls. WHen mysister was 15, my parents took her with them to Turkey for a holiday and were offered 50 camels and a plane to take them home in if they would leave my sister with them to marrytheir son!

When I went out there with my Mam a couple of years later (I was 22), she was offered the pick of a high-end jewellery shop for me! She was sorely tempted by the beautiful sets with emerald/diamond and ruby/diamond combinations, but declined. I actually had dark hair at the time and had just lost a lot of weight, but they were impressed by my very pale skin and silver-blue eyes (that's another combo they like!).

A blonde-haired friend of mine went to Turkey on holiday last year...while heavily pregnant, with her husband and her 2-year-old daughter. No-one offered her husband any livestock as trade for her but she did say everyone loved little Kacie, who has the same colouring as her. Naturally, Kacie loved all the attention!

hehe there's a fish and chip shop near my boyfriends that's owned by a Turkish man who practically falls over himself to give me the very best of everything and a massive ego boost every time I go in, all because I'm blonde haired and fair skinned. Also, when I do catwalks I'm not the best looking in the show but the Turkish hair dresser spends like 40 minuteson my hair doing the most intricate stuff, because I'm blonde. Every other hair colour gets less than five minutes of attention.

It certainly explains the looks we got in Turkey in '89. I was blond, at the time and I'm 6' tall!! If Mark arrives back from the shopping to day with a bottle of blond hair dye, for me, and says he's booked us a 'surprise' holiday, I'll know he's been reading this .... and fancies going into the farming business!!
