What a pretty pattern and I like the colour combination, the bright blue is such an interesting contrast!

thanks for all the comments, the pattern is part of a larger pattern which i have modified colour wise, it is from the pattern 'floral fire screen' from the world of cross stitching, issue 106 (dec 2005) had the first part which I dont have and issue 107 (jan 06) had the second which I do have, i purchased the chart from an ebay seller and am currently looking for the other one.
asking for advise, should i put a row of satin stich between the edge of the design and the back stitch border or leave it as it is?

I personally wouldn't put satin stitch around it, it would probably take away the "lacyness" of the piece, don't you think?
