Apologies for the poor quality of this pic. As you can see, I have now completed tha basic pic and only have the backstitching to do. I have tried to balance the altered colours on the head by altering the colours on the hanging leg to some degree. I don't think I did a very good job, but William is pleased with it. I hope the backstitching will improve the overall balance of the pic with my alterations.

Started backstitch today. The top part above the kitty is complete, and I have made a start below him and the branch. I want to get all the flowers and foliage done first, then the branch he is lying on, and kitty will be last. You can really see the difference between the backstitched bee and the one not done yet.
Oh, the backstitched parts have suddenly come alive, haven't they I love this part of the progress so much. It is going to be stunning!

Just loving how this is coming along!! The backstitching is really making it look oh so much nicer, if that's even possible!! Looking forward to seeing this one finished, which, I'm sure, won't be much longer

bert wrote:This is such a lovely design! You're doing a great job on it, and I reckon it's going to look fantastic. I'm also fairly sure that the backstitch will make all the difference to the odd-looking paw, although I have to say, I sin't really notice anything odd about it - one of my cats sleeps practically upside down, turned in on himself and the otehr sleeps like a human - on his back, all spread out - that's a shock to see, I can tell you
Great stuff Fljots
Thanks, bert! I once had a cat - a big, solid-black boy - who slept propped up on his back in a corner, supported by the walls on each side, with all his legs and tail sprawled out, and his head leaning back on the angle of the walls. You never saw anything so relaxed in your life - he looked like a sleek rag doll!
ope you'll soon feel "up" again! I agree that cats can sleep in any position they fancy, and of course the branc is 3D in reality so the paw is probably resting on the rounded part, or some knobbly bit sticking out at the back where we can't see it
Yes, well, it will have to stay as it is, I'm afraid. I've tried to figure out a way of doing it, but short of frogging so as to alter the shape of the paw so the claws can grip...
It looks wonderful as is and once you have had the time and interest to finish all of the BS you will nevcer notice it is odd. Your eyes will be fooled into ignoring the shape.
Your work is fantastic can't wait for a final!!!!!!
