Finished the first page – only about 42 to go!! At least some of them are only a couple of rows wide!!
I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it. The coverage seems worse on the 18ct than I normally find on 14ct, even though I'm using the same number of threads. It's possibly because the colours are so dark on the white aida which is always a bug-bear of mine .... and at least there are a lot lighter colours to come .... but then followed by a lot of black. Do you think it looks OK – honestly?
Apart from that worry I'm really looking forward to page 2 – as his right ear, top of his head and part of his eye are on it. It'll be lovely to see some of the cat 'appear'!

I think it looks fantastic! Congrats on the page finish. As for the coverage, in my opinion it looks good, and remember once finished, and washed it will all come together. Have fun with the next page!
I couldn't worry too much about stitching on 18 count. I've used that fabric many times and 2 over 1 has given me good coverage. When you look at it close up you might notice bits showing through but when you stand back and look from a distance you won't notice anything.

Thank you for all the lovely comments and putting my mind to rest about the coverage.
It is ridiculous how much I'm looking forward to getting to his ear and sometimes I think I need to get a bit more of a grip on reality ...... but not now as kitty's ear's coming!!! Ye Ha!!

It's looking great, and the coverage looks fine to me. Are you perhaps using longer lengths of thread than normal, so it's getting more twisted than you're used to, or something?
I have done so little for the last few weeks!! It has been so hot and muggy that every time I start to stitch I lose concentration or just feel 'un-stitchy'! There has also been the distraction of Wimbledon and the World Cup .....
But I've finished of the top bit of the second page and ...... the cat's next!! I love the outline of his big ear and am really looking forward to starting stitching him – and hopefully a lot less confetti (although it was appropriate as it was our wedding anniversary last week )
