Is this too difficult for a beginner
Hello all, just wondering if you think the Ashanti woman (Lanarte) would be too big of a project for a beginner. Also do you all buy your projects in kits. Could you recommend any websites where i can buy kits at a reasonable price. (not sure if that is allowed on here). Thanks all, Nemmy xx
Re: Is this too difficult for a beginner
There is a thread in the wanted section Internet Site THis has loads and loads of links to different companies. Both kits and just chart.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror
Re: Is this too difficult for a beginner
I looked at that kit for sale on a website. It says that it is whole cross stitches only and the threads are presorted. Could be doable if you are up for a challenge!
I will use a kit if the threads are presorted. I've gotten too many headaches trying to decipher the different shades of a color!
Good luck!

I did a Lanarte project as my second big project when I got back into cross stitch and it was absolutely fine. I got it in a kit and the kit was well organised with all the threads pre-sorted, a clear chart and clear instructions. Bigger kits aren't necessarily any more complicated in their stitches than smaller kits, they just take longer to do because you've got more stitches to make. If you like the design, give it a go.
Personally I'm happy to do either kits or charts so long as I like the design. I've tended to veer more towards charts at the moment because I find there's a wider range of designs in chart only form but that wouldn't stop me doing a kit if I liked the look of it.

As Lessa said, bigger doesn't mean more complicated. Should you get frustrated with it or bored, you can always pick up a small design to do on the side.
