I was going to suggest what Jarvis mentioned...
I think it looks great... I would change it.. I think the difference is so slight that you'd really only pick it out if it's mentioned... but if it's something that's going to bug you everytime you look at it then fix it

Love this, love the style and everything.

Is it stain or bits of floss - if it is bits you might be able to gently brush or sticky tape it out (carefully !)

I'm not normally a pumpkin fan, but this piece is stunning! So beautiful in fact that I just had to look at the Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks website. Everything on that site is wonderful. Thank you for introducing me to another designer to fall in love with. Your gorgeous creation has inspired me!

Great finish! I do actually like the leaf as it is, keeps it from being to "static", but it's a personal thing and as it's your stitching, you decide :-)!
Hope all the advice that's been given will help you get rid og those "ghost stitches"

Thanks all. For now, I have decided to do nothing and leave it a while.. I have to figure out how I am going to finish it anyways. The design is about 13" square. I am thinking a rustic painted green wood frame, no matting, no glass. While I figure that out I will let it be and come back to it after I have worked on other things. I'll change it if it still bugs me.

Now to get started on my other AAN design!
