Stamped Cross Stitch Kit

Can someone help me with the differences between a stamped cross stitch kit and a regular (counted) cross stitch kit?

I have counted cross stitched for several years and have not ever done a "stamped pattern".

I have questions like, do you have to count on a stamped kit? What is it like to stitch on the quilted fabric vs aida cloth?

Other ideas, thoughts, personal choices?

They are usually not as detailed as the counted cross stitch patterns. The stamp is printed right on the material and then you just have to put the correct color on the correct X. Some are better then others, the stamp is of a better quality but some are quite had to follow. I much prefer counted stitchig although I have done a few stamped pieces. They are ok but I never get the same joy.
