Post by Rose »

I am doing a chart that was in a magazine that Agi sent to me. The chart is great but they did not put enough floss in for a few of the colors.

Here is the Color Chart
Image

The colors I ran out of are

0910
0907
1402

I tried to find a conversion chart but I can not find these colors could some one please help me by translating so I can look for a close DMC option. :beg: :x:

Are the threads Maderia? I can see most of the numbers on the link below ..... I think!

Maderia to DMC.

They certainly look like Madeira numbers to me, I recognise some of them from my silks I think. What are the other colours?

Yes, the Hungarian magazine uses Madeira colours (they may have a contract with them?)
Rose, I checked the DMC colours on the chart that ali-cat provided, against the Hungarian description and they seem to match, so this should be all right:

0910 DMC 799
0907 DMC 794
1402 DMC 988

But I am not sure they will be a 100% match.

I have some Madeira floss at home - I used it for my Xmas Sampler and the leftover threads are still in my floss box. I will have a look when I get home and see if I have any of those three colours, if so I'd be happy to send you what I've got. I'm at work at the moment, but will check tonight.

Oh Thanks everyone. The number matches don't have to be exact I just want to finish up the picture. It is a quick little card.

Sarah Thank You so much but the card is so small I am just going to us the close matches.

It is funny, whoever packaged the little kit had no idea what colors were what. The one color that only needed a single thread I got 4 lengths of. I checked and check the code so I am pretty sure I sorted them correctly and these other colors were I needed atleast 2 lengths I only got one. :thinks: Oh well it is a fun book and I am enjoying all other patterns and there possiblities. :D

Rose, I'm glad you managed to find suitable matches anyway, as I've checked my Madeira stash and unfortunately I don't have those colours. I'm looking forward to seeing the card when you finish it.
