Help with finishing off a bookmark on ribband bookmark aid..

Post by K1nS »

I saw that someone was having troubles on finishing a bookmark but this is slightly different. With it already being ribband, i'm unsure on how I can finish it to make it pretty. In the past I have either used card or felt but not sure if it would work on this...

There are a few things you can do...One, is find some ribbon that you like and use fabric glue around the edges and glue to the back side (if you don't want a rough edge, you can hem the ribbon first..2-find a piece of fabric that you like, cut and hem to size and either glue or stitch in place...I found that using a straight stitch on my sewing machine is quite nice...and lastly if you have enough of the riband, you can double it over and sew or glue the top in place...you can also stitch something on the back side(the same design, or just some words even like who it is for and when and by whom) and then sew or glue in place...
You can look at some needlebook finishings for inspirations...hope this helps...
