Re: Halloween Biscornu Exchange - Signing up deadline - 6th Aug
I have added a poll to this thread to vote to keep this exchange secret until the bircornu has been received by the recipient. It is just a plain yes or no..even though some of use don't mind if we do or don't. The poll is opened until 6th Aug 11.59pm (GMT) and I would pefer if it was those who are participating to vote only.

I voted secret. I like the surprise! Also, I am a little nervous about my work and don't want anyone to be disappointed. I know that is silly, but this isn't something I share with a lot of people. I always get nervous to present my creations.

Of course I am not Zeb.Zeb wrote:Glad you're not upset Shin.

I haven't voted yet. I remember the last mini biscornu exchange and I was dying to know what people did and how the biscornu was meant to look like since it was my first. I just remember when I received my biscornu I thought mine looked different....it was packed that much with stuffing and to me it was a funny shape. I was thinking that I would have lovely to have seen what others were doing so I knew that I was doing it right.
So I think I am going to go with...not secret.

With the bookmark one being a secret, it would be lovely to have the biscornu one with all the pics as we finish, so we have one secret exchange and one not at the same time.

Re: Halloween Biscornu Exchange - Signing up deadline - 6th Aug
This is the last day for signing up and to vote...so if anyone still wants to join could you please do so before 9.00pm GMT as I will be putting up the list of recipients after that.

Just finished stitching side 2 and will be working on assembly this evening.

Re: Halloween Biscornu Exchange - Signing up deadline - 6th Aug
Well here is the final list. I used random.org firstly then had to tweak to make sure I have met all of your preferences which I hope everyone is ok with. So the rules are: you post to the person below you and you will receive from the person above you. The last person on the list with ship to the first person on the list.
1. Siti
2. XandrasS
3. Mauveme
4. Kell
5. Pixxie
6. Charmed
7. Shin
8. bert
9. Cytrix
10. startchild202
11. Zeb
12. Capricious
13. Jaki
14. Bridge
Finally, the votes for the secret/non-secret was 50-50 so I hope you all don't mind if I make the final decision. Since the last biscornu exchange was secretive then I think it is only fair to have this one non-secretive. Hope everyone is happy with my reason for the decision.
Happy stitching everyone.

Wow, I am feeling concerned that I won't get things done. I have a small project before this one I need to get done and then I will start. You ladies just seem ready and raring to go! I still have over a month, right?

Re: Halloween Biscornu Exchange - Signing up deadline - 6th Aug
Here we go - my finished biscornu:
Front (on pale green fabric) and back (on pale orange fabric) designs:

Assembled - front, back and side views:

The colours of the two fabrics don't show up so well in the photos, as they're both very pale, but they complement each other well and show up the colours used in the designs nicely. I actually used two different colours of beads (both Mill Hill, but I can't remember the number codes). The lighter ones are on the pumpkin side and the darker ones on the spider side. And I liked the idea of using corresponding coloured leaf buttons for the middle as they were suitably autumnal. You can't really see on the photos, but I used three colours in the assembly. The border square on the pumpkin side is orange, the border on the spider side is green and I used the golden-orange colour to sew it all up.
