I usually order from 123stitch.com as they've been so fast in shipping and are very affordable. Will definitely have to think on this one!! The Christmas set is very temptinggardengirl wrote:I'm in the same boat here -- no stores that are just for needlework that would carry these kinds of charts, so I order online too. Generally, there are maybe 10 colors involved in each one? Many of them come with the fabric and maybe an embellishment or two, but generally not with the threads. I've found that many of the charts by all three use the same colors frequently. I'm doing "big blizzard sampler" by Heart-in-Hand and had all the threads on hand already! Where do you order from?

Thank you, Laura... I see that you are getting married soon -- I wish you all kinds of joy! My older daughter was married a few weeks ago, on July 23. She's now living in your part of the world, as her husband is from Southampton!LauraUK wrote:Hi and welcome to the forum

I think it's lovely too -- I usually order from Stitcher's Closet, but will definitely check out 123stitch.com as well. It never hurts to have more than one source!karen4bells wrote:I usually order from 123stitch.com as they've been so fast in shipping and are very affordable. Re: Hello from Northern Virginia
I've just caught up with this thread - I've been cutting out 2 quilt tops blocks. Welcome from Australia.
I went looking for a local supplier of Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Art threads and did find a place in NSW and now can't find where I wrote down the details. I have several Stoney Creek mags with some gorgeous Christmas designs in them. About time to have a clear out on my computer desk I think and get my notes all into separate note books or something.

You quilt too? So do I -- and need to get going on my daughter's wedding quilt (now that she finally picked out a pattern). What were the patterns that you cut out? *smile* I like Stoney Creek as well, but haven't done one of their charts in a very very long time...

Hi Garden Girl
Great to see that you quilt too. What pattern did your daughter chose for her wedding quilt? I have been making scrap quilts for my grand children - well 7 of them anyway plus my DIL (2) and DD (1) plus stitched special pictures for the 3 older GC. I usually just use 7x11 blocks and cut up a few so there is no matching of seams etc.
I did do a stitchery for my sister - all about sisters - plus my DD one had the Ohio Star x3 blocks as a centre piece. 2 I have done recently were using Flower Fairy blocks with plain sashing and a one of them was a FF panel with sashing - nice and easy. I plan on making myself a summer duvet using the Winding Ways blocks . My winter one is of 1" squares into 5x5 blocks using up my favourite fabrics and colours and its on my king single bed.
However, I need to stop making quilts as it beggars up my hands, neck shoulders etc (RSI and arthritis) too much. Besides that cross stitching is my first love.
I guess with step grand children getting into their 20's now I need to start giving thought to wedding gifts and so on. It never ends does it - and isn't that lovely.
