That is stunning work Janet, your DIL will surely be delighted. How did you make this - is a kit of some kind?

Well thank you all, I really enjoyed making it. The only thing I would recommend for anyone who wants to make one and hasn't is make sure you use a thimble to push the pins in or else your fingers will feel quite sore.

Susan it is a kit from 'Pinflair' you can order on line or they also have stalls at the NEC so I guess they go to other craft fairs as well. They do loads of other things as well but in my opinion some of them are not as tasteful as the wedding bells, they also do the bell in white/silver but the cream/gold ties in with their wedding invites etc.

Thats beautiful. I am not used to the custom.
All I got from my MIL is her son and welcomed into the family, which was enough for me LOL. I am very fortunate I love my inlaws, sure we don't agree on everything but down to it they give their opinion and the back off, and do not get upset if we don't take their advice. LOL and they don't think that my DH is always right either. I have seen his dad lay into him on my behalf before. LOL

I'm not familiar with the horseshoe tradition, but I do know this bell is gorgeous!

I wouldn't know where to start on something like this -- so intricate and stunning. What a great keepsake -- and a very thoughtful Mother-in-law. :)

Well everyone, today I saw the bell in real life, so to speak. The photos do NOT do it justice. It's brilliant. I'm sure the bride and groom will be blown away by this and the sampler. Well done minij and good luck for sunday, mother of the groome. x
