I have promised to do a project for a good friend who has just bought a new house. Like myself she is cat nutty and loves most things ... except the colour blue! I fear that recently I may have offended her (by saying it wasn't possible for her to come over, to France for a visit, as Mark and my health aren't up to it at the moment) so I really want to start something for her very quickly.
I didn't want to pick a 'picture', as such, as everyone's tastes tend to be different to everyone else's, so I thought something more like a stylistic design would be a good idea. I have already ordered an Alessandra Adelaide design which I though would be lovely for her .... but what colour do you think would suit best, for my non-blue loving friend. I like the thought of rose and reds, or lilacs and purple, but would love to hear others thoughts.
Many thanks.

Do you by chance know what colors are in her house? Or what colors are her accent colors that way it will tie into her home decor? If not what about a grey. I know it doesn't sound eye catching but black white and grey will really go with everything. Or maybe a tan or biege. I am only thinking this in case she wants to hang it.
If you aren't going for that I think a pretty light purple would look great!! Or even Red that would really pop then.
Well I built up the courage and sent her a quick message (firstly to make sure she was still talking to me!! ..... which she is ) and her lounge will be gold and reds and the kitchen/diner will be painted in sage green, cream and red.
I had really liked the thought of reds or greens and thought I'd decide when I knew her colours - and she has both!! Oh, decisions, decisions!! HELP!!

Or you could choose an oatmeal/dark beige fabric and do the circle in sage and cream, and the cat in black (or use off-white fabric and do the circle in sage and beige, of course , it's just that personally I like the combination of sage and off-white) -- something like this perhaps?
I couldn't get the colours quite the way I wanted in the cross stitch program I use, but I'm thinking a sort of greyish green and cream on oatmeal.
At first I liked the idea of red... but if she's going to have golds and red and a little green, I'd go with greens... She's probably going to have a lot of gold/red going on in the room and if you really want it to blend in nicely you'll want to go with the more subtle (and less used) color of the room...
