Well...Hello, Kettle; I''m Pot! That really is beautiful work. I understand your frustration. For some of us, the smallest error is a glaring beacon. When things don't turn out just so, we see it magnified to huge proportions. As my sig says, we are each our own devil. I keep it there as a reminder to not steal my own joy over small things like this. :)

Ingahaim, your work is just lovely :) I have participated in quite a few exchanges over the years, and every time I know what I have received is nicer than what I have sent  My stitching is fine, but my finishing is hopeless! But I have never let that stop me taking part - I just hope that whoever is receiving from me will know what I have done has been done to the best I can do, and done with love :)

These are beautiful pieces that anyone who stitches would be delighted to receive. Nothing in the world is perfect, and that goes doubly for experimental trials. You learn more and do better next time. Learning = life!

Everything looks lovely. As I like to say - mistakes make the piece "custom". @rotfl:

Happy stitching.

for my part you seem to be a very conscientious person and given that I couldn't believe that love and care doesn't go into your projects. Any project stitched with love and care is worthwhile and I would be pleased to have it gifted to me.

Your work is lovely, Ingahaim ... and as others have said, the point is to learn and share and exchange your work among friends.

We all put time, effort, and joy into our work, and I think the neatest thing of all about the exchanges from this community would be to say, "Look at what my cross-stitch friend in (Belgium, or Virginia, or anywhere) sent to me!"

That's what I am hoping to gain from this community -- new friends from all over the world who share my love of needlework. And I would be thrilled to receive work from you or anyone else here! I'm participating in the bookmark exchange, too...

Ingahaim, if you think your stitching is horrible, you haven't seen a thing! To see really terrible needlework...follow the link of my blog and prepare to gasp! You'll faint, once you see, how horrendous projects I have sent out of this house.

Ingahaim, I've been stitching off and on for about 15 years. Never in that time have I created a biscornu, especially one as gorgeous as that purple one.

My hat's (if I were wearing one anyhow) off to you. Don't be scared. You are really talented. :gift:

We all make mistakes in our projects but no one will ever notice,
Only the person that made it will ever know!

Even with the odd mistake , bad stitch, it dont take anything away
From how beautiful the finished item is.

What you have made are just lovely! I can't see a thing wrong with them.

I'd be over the moon to receive these items,
You can see they are made with love.

What more could anyone ask for???
Finished:

Oh they're so pretty!!! But if your worried about not being good enough, you can always do a swap with another newbie to these things and that way you're both learning and no one's expecting something the other can't deliver? And if you want a volunteer...me?

I'm scared too but I will participate soon when I have a bit more time on my hands.
And I would be over the moon to receive anything like that in my mail!

What my motto is when I stitch and finish it, that when you see faults thats where you can be sure that it is truly handmade, and always with love in your finished product.
Things I love:
- Robert Pattinson *giggles*
- Meeting up my girlies at premieres
- Cross-stitching
- Reading: Black Dagger Brotherhood, TMI, ID, Twilight, The hunger Games etc.
- Chatting
- Trying to learn other crafts
- My BF
- My cats

Well said all, See not one negitive comment from anyone!!!

You should see my work in progress, It is my first counted cross stitch, my only other project was printed on the fabric, I have modified it as I go due to miscounted stitches lol and it still looks ok.

On the front that is, the back in another story

You're so generous Angel. :)

Your work is beautiful!! I participated in the Christmas biscornu exchange and that was my first one ever. Believe me, your work is vastly superior to that one!! :) And possibly everything I've ever done. :)

From what I saw in your pictures I would appreciate anything you would be sending. I've seen way worse myself in finishing, mine own included. I'll say this you get better with practice so don't give up hope. We're not all seamstresses, but we can accomplish is just great in my humble opinion. I would say take the chance and join an exhcange. You might be surprised at the reaction you get from the recipent :-).
