I was quite tired last night when I came home from work (it is our busy time of year). So I ate and looked up the internet then decided to work on my daughters gifts. This is a very easy pattern few colors and easy directions. So why is it I made such a mess of things????? I had to tear out everything I had stitched it was so bad I couldn't even figure out where the mistake had started.
Yes, I was tired and should have just left the stitching for another time but NO I wanted to get the first one finished. Ha serves me right. Also first thing in the morning at work I had hit my elbow. About 6 years ago I was working and hit my funny bone....(NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT IT) and fractured that bone. Well there is nothing that can be done for a fracture in that area except to rest the arm and let it heal on its own. Fine I did that but ever since if I happen to bump that area I am in deep pain for about 2 weeks. I can't lift with it or even rest the elbow on the arm of my chair without having pain. So I have to be so very careful. And I can't take time off right now as we have a short deadline.

i always make that same mistake of stitching while tired..because I really want to. I should have learned my lesson from all the frogging I have had to do. but no..i never learn..lol

Oh, Rose, I am so sorry for you. I hope the elbow gets better soon.

Oh frack. That sucks. Hope your elbow gets better. You're right, there's nothing funny about that type injury. There's too much crap in there to be damaged and all those nerve and tissue connections just radiate the pain throughout the entire arm into the shoulder, neck and back.
Ouch hope your elbow feels better soon & the stitching we never seem to learn we keep on doing it altho I will never stitch while drinking wine again *lesson recently learned due to the wrong colours used, miscounting & the amount of frogs*
Rose, I hope your elbow feels better soon! I guess stitching when tired and trying to hurry things along just don't mix. Whenever I try to rush things along nothing goes right!
I hope your elbow feels much better. I took your advice last night. I soo wanted to stitch but I was getting so tired. I thought of you and put it down. Even though I really wanted to stitch!!!
Thanks everyone. The elbow will get better it always does just have to be very careful with it.
So then why are the simplest patterns the one I seem to have the most trouble with. This pattern could be done by a 5 year old and yet I am having more trouble with it then my more complicated ones. I mean really what is my problem.

Aww hope your elbow feels better, Also dont stitch when your peeved off.
i had a silly fight with my OH one evening and i just ignored him in bed by doing some stiching waiting for him to apologise, and i was still thinking about it when i realised that i had missed a stitch a while back after i had tied ends and started another colour, this in which had annoyed me even more so he had to say sorry for that aswell lol.
Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but never gets you anywhere
I just started a new medicine that is making me spacey, loopy and happy (don't ask). Thought I was doing ok today with a butterfly...had to 95% of what I had done today...
I feel your pain!!
Happy Stitching,
Heather

So this thread - in which I replied - is about stitching when tired. Then tonight I just had to finish one little bit.....and then frog it all just because I am so tired. Some folk never learn. Duh.
So sorry Rose to hear about your troubles. I have done backstitching while tired and will not ever do that again!!! I think we are trained to do the more complicated projects after doing them so long that the simple ones just slip our minds and we cannot do it anymore.
