As some of you may know, I was away on vacation for a few weeks at the beginning of August where I was determined to do nothing but stitch. I did this, and it was great! I got tons done - finished a UFO, made good progress on my pixie and butterflies. Near the end of my holiday, I ended up accidentally burning my hand very badly on the steam from a kettle. So badly in fact that I wound up in the emergency room with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. And of course, it was my stitching hand that I burnt.
So here I am, 12 days later, and still unable to stitch more than 15-20 stitches at a time before my hand hurts unbearably. I am so frustrated. I miss stitching!! It's my "me time," my unwinding time, my recharge my batteries time. I start school again in 2 weeks and my stitching time will dwindle down to almost nothing, so I feel like I'm being cheated from enjoying the last few weeks of summer vacation.
Oh no! I'm so sorry about your hand!! Hope it heals soon and that the pain will lessen soon!!

I'm sorry about your hand! I had a bad burn on my leg from spilling a pot of boiling water years ago, and I know how long it took for me to recover. I can't even imagine what you're going through with it on your hand. (hugs)
Ouchie, steam burns are the worse! That really sucks that you can't use your vacation for stitching now. Perhaps if your hand heals quickly, you can still have some stitching time near the end of summer
I'm sorry to hear about your hand! In short- That sucks! Hopefully it will heal completely and you'll be back to stitching in no time. Until then...its still fun to browse through different sites and start setting up a line of projects for when you're all ready to get back to stitching
That was such bad luck for you and I can fully understand your added frustration at now not being able to stitch. I hope it heals soon I work in a school and will be back at work this time next week

Oh I know how you feel! I burned my foot last christmas with hot oil and it took over 2 months before it was healed enough not to hurt like crazy when walking. Did they give you some silvadene cream? That stuff was a godsend. Hopefully it heals quickly and you can get back to stitching soon.
