Another update - I'm quite happy to be done with the wings - felt like a ton of confetti. I've got some nice blocks of colors to work with on the next couple of pages - then I'll move down to the last pumpkin - more confetti. It feels great to be in the home stretch - it will be nice stitching this (hopefully finish) as we near Halloween.

I know Fljotsdale will not like the wings - but think of this as a kitty in costume.

This site is the first place I've heard about HAED...once I figured out what it was, I promptly went to their website and of course immediately found a picture I want to do.

Its a little overwhelming though when I read comments talking about 36 chart pages lol. May I ask, how long have you been working on the Witching Hour to achieve the 82% complete?

VVine - I started this project (my first HAED thanks to this forum) - at the end of October 2009. I've done a few small things as well - but this has been my main piece. 120,000 stitches total - and my goal is to have it finished within 1 year. I'm a bit farther than the 82% - will have to tally up my numbers since late last week tomorrow - I suspect I'll be around 85-86% complete.

I was a bit overwhelmed as well with the numerous pages - but after receiving and working with the HAED design, I much prefer doing 'page work'. I don't stick to one page at a time - but pretty close. I also get the mini finish feeling when I finish a page and can throw it away. I love that there is no backstitching or specialty stitches.

My next HAED design is not quite 3 times the size of this one - but I will be working that in rotation with some non-HAED pieces I want to do.
