Rocking Horse Christmas- Finished!

Post by natural_isis »

 Yes! It's finally done. It still needs a wash and an iron, but it's finished, finished, finished! There was an evil amount of backstitch and I left off most of the french knots because I didn't really like the way they looked on it, but here he is. Hope you enjoy!
Image

The specs: Done on 18ct ivory with DMC 2 over 1. Pattern is from the September 1999 edition of Stitcher's World magazine ( and okay this was when I started this project).

Hope to join next month's UFO stitch-a-long with Freedom for All (A present for my daughter that is about five years late  ).

By the way, yes the "C" block is a bit odd, due to the fact that i put two whole stitches where two quarter stitches should have been, but I just couldn't bear to try to take them out and risk damaging the surrounding stitching. So they are there to remind me that stitching and sleep deprivation don't mix.

That is so awesome. I hope you have given yourself a good pat on the back - or got someone else to do it for you. Great work.

Good luck with your UFO too

Very Beautiful. Well done your stitching is fantastic. I'm hoping to join next months UFO as well with Majestic Peacock. I made a huge mistake on it and haven't had the heart to go back to it. So will use the UFO SAL to get it done:)

:applesauce: Great design that you choose and beautifully stitched.

I think my Paula Vaughn took about 5 years to complete too....mainly because I put it away for years at a time lol. So I'm sure it happens to all of us.

Happy for you that you've finished your's...I love the warm cozy feel of the picture! :applesauce:

Thank you all so much for your comments! In truth I have all of you to thank for this finish. I'm constantly grabbing a few minutes here and there to look at all your WIPs. There are so many lovely projects on this board and they are very inspiring (in fact several of you are responsible for increasing the size of my stash). I'm hoping that life will slow down a little bit and I can post more. Again, thank you all. Happy Stitching!
