So really glad to hear that there is such wonderful progress for Chad. He is obviously a very strong minded person to be working so hard on his recovery. I am sure that you and the family remaining positive and encouraging is what will help him the most in the future as it has worked up to now which is shown by his leapiong forward so fast.
I thought I would give you all another good update. Chad has started to talk. He says I love you to me. He's done it twice in the last three days and he says yes and no or will nod yes and no. The docs said he would never be able to communicate with us. Obviously they were wrong. Sorry I have not been around much. Will try to check in this week. Thank you all again for everything! I love you all!

bringing tears of joy to my eyes reading this!! What fabulous news this is!! Certainly Chad has much higher intentions of healing than his doctors ever imagined!!
As for not being around as much, I can certainly understand why!! Sounds like you being there is certainly helping Chad's healing process!!

That's such amazing news! You must be proud of him too, he seems determined to prove the doctors wrong. Good for him! I'm still sending you both my positive thoughts.

I am sat here with tears in my eyes, because I am so happy for you and Chad. He has made such amazing progress and may he continue to prove the Doctors wrong
Oh wow it's been over a month since I've given you all an update. Well Chad is now considered to be fully awake. He had his feeding tube removed and eats on his own. He feeds himself and tries to clean up after himself. He's still in the hospital and I think he should be in rehab but they say he is still not ready. He can't really sit up on his own although he tries to pull himself out of bed. We've gotten him in the wheelchair and he rolls himself around. He pretty much only uses his left side but can move his right side if he really concentrates. He still doesn't say very many words although he will mouth them. I can show him flash cards and he will read a few of them off before he gets distracted. He jokes around too. He'll roll his eyes at you and smile if you tell him too and stick his tongue out. He also cracks me up because I'll ask him if he likes the hospital food and he'll snarl his lip up and shake his head no. If you ask him something and he doesn't know the answer, he'll shrug his shoulders. I bought him some bubbles last week and he was trying to blow them but can't seem to blow hard enough to get them to come out and then he'll look at me and shrug his shoulders. But if I blow the bubbles for him then he tries to catch them all. He seems to get really upset when either me or his brother leave from visiting him. Last night, I said goodnight and he waved at me and then when I got to the end of the bed and looked back, he stuck his arm out and shrugged his shoulders like he wanted to say "what the heck" Then he looked like he was going to pout. I felt sooo bad. As you can see, he's doing an enourmous amount of stuff just in the last few weeks. Still crossing our fingers that he will get into a rehab facility soon.

What fabulous progress Chad is making--I'm sitting here nearly in tears after reading this progress report and just hoping that he continues to improve as rapidly as he has. I do hope he is able to get into a rehab center soon. Sending loads of hugs and prayers to you and Chad!
