Son's Christmas stocking - Finishing Tutorial Up!

Post by Katiespark »

So I've been working on this since I was pregnant, and my goal is to get it done by this Christmas for my son, Tristan. Here is what it will look like when finished:

Image

And here is what I have done so far:

Image

I will be using a different alphabet (from my daughter's stocking) for his name because I feel like the current alphabet isn't solid enough.

P.S. On the preview, the pics look small. This is my first go at uploading pictures to a post, so I don't know if they will still look small in the post. If so, any suggestions for how to make them look bigger? Thanks!

Lovely stocking -- and you're almost done!

Re posting pictures -- I see that you're posting the pictures from your gallery here, which is what I do. I think it depends on the size of the picture file you upload. If it's quite small, that may be the problem.

I'm on a Mac, so I use iPhoto, First I export the photo from there to my desktop and it gives me a choice for file size, from small to full size. Usually medium works well enough to give a good size (at least 100K, sometimes larger). Do you know what size files you're uploading?

Thanks, everyone! It's on hold for this week as I'm doing the UFO club, but your support is so encouraging. Finishing IS nervewracking... I spent at least an hour using basting threads, measuring, measuring again, pinning, and testing before I dared to sew it. I think the scariest part was actually butting the stocking shape out of the big rectangle of fabric! :D
