Here's a little something I tried, it's based on a Victoria Sampler freebie but I changed the shape of the hardanger and the filling stitches, and altered the rose and gold border a bit.

The cross stitch is done in DMC floche, and the gold is Petite Treasure Braid. The fabric is 28ct cream evenweave.

Uhmmmm I'm clueless as to how to go about it  but I'm sure there's probably some help I could find somewhere around here!

The gold and rose piece is beautiful! Great job :applesauce:

Nothing to show for it, but I just designed my own Hardanger doily/mat/slightly-larger-than-usual-for-me design and I feel terribly chuffed about it  :D
Must work only on the bookmarks at the moment, but after that I'll do this one! ( :thinks: thinking of cream on black with hints of gold, but perhaps I should just do it white-on-white first)

Tidied up the design a bit (in the boss' time -- good thing I'm married to him :-)), so I thought I'd show you the chart and see what you all think. You may notice it's not exctly symmetrical, that's because I've put a few alternatives into one chart  so the hardanger bits will either be "shields" or hearts, and the Algerian eyes "light" or very full. You can click on the picture for a bigger version.

Your rose design is very pretty, and you have a very impressive pattern there. Looking forward to seeing it stitched up :applesauce:
