6 x 6 1/8 inches??!! Wow - a lot of detail in such a small area. Great choice of design. :applesauce:

Hi all,

Well.... things are not progressing as I had hoped :(

I have been making good progress and was pleased until i took a step back and noticed my fabric was distorted :oops: I am pretty sure it's because it's my first try on 25ct evenweave and as it made me nervous I made my stitches too tight :oops:

Anyway, the edges of the design pull inwards so it's getting narrower and more noticeable as i move down each row. So i have made the decision to stop now before i waste too much thread and re start. My stitching was pretty uneven in places too cos I was trying to stitch tighter. I have now done another test piece with my usual tension and it looks much better. So I am going to try again. I am viewing this mistake as trial and error lol :wink:

Also I was working like this /////// then \\\\\\\ which i don't think was helping. I am going to try making each cross individually as this feels more natural to me anyway.
Any advice would be great. Wish me luck!

I am sorry to hear things are not working out as hoped. I guess you do learn from your mistakes so hopefully you will do better this time.

You might like to try less thread strands or tent stitch and see it that helps with the problem. I had to restart a few times with different types of stitches and fabric.

That's so sad :( . You'd made such good progress. I hope you are happier with your next attempt. :hug: Its an amazing design so it will definitely be worth it all in the end.
