Too much stitching???

Post by Ceitidh »

Last night I thought I would stay up and get some peace to stitch but I ended up falling asleep holding the frame and threaded needle for over an hour!!

Do you sit and stitch far too late into the night?

I haven't actually fallen asleep whilst stitching.......yet! However, if I pick up my stitching during the day you can guarantee tea will be late! I also tend to stitch until too late at night, "I'll just finish this colour............!" :D

Me too! Never have fallen asleep stitching, but I've been "sleeping" with my eyes open while doing it; never fails that's when I screw up. LOL

I stitched far into the night and ended up with blurry eyes and sore the next day. I was straining my eyes too much. So now I stitched whenever I can and if my eyes get sore, I take a few days rest from stitching.

LOL. :) Yes, that's me, too. I sometimes sleep with my eyes open while stitching, and I almost always end up having to frog :ribbit: the stitches I've done while not paying attention.

I'll add my agreement.. absolutely when I stay up to "finish that colour" I end up having to redo everything the next time I pick it up. :)

Hahahahaha, so the conclusion is: do not stitch while you're sleepy in order to avoid the :anotherfrog: yep?

Actually stitching is what keeps me awake. I am like Fljotsdale if I am just watching TV it puts me to sleep but stitching while I watch keeps my eyes open.

In the middle of the night and into the wee hours of the morning is when I usually stitch. My hours are a bit wacky, but regardless of when I stitch, I absolutely have to stop when my eyes start crossing and I'm tired. I can't count how many times I've tried to finish a section or color and had to redo it all. That frog...he must be a night owl. LOL :anotherfrog:

i cant stitch if i am even a bit tired...so i have not fallen asleep stitching. I tend to stitch more in the morning, sometimes i wake up at 4am and if i dont start work till 2 pm, i''ll stitch till about 9am, go back to bed for a few hours and then go to work. I tend to get more done then as i know i am going to work...on a day off i tend to take my time and put it off...yet i have all day to stitch then..how weird :thinks:

Too much stitching is absurd! However, late night stitching can get you in trouble with the :anotherfrog:. Sometimes I do stay up later than I should because I am enjoying stitching.

Yes I too have fallen asleep whole stitching. I have only done it a couple times but it has happened nonetheless. Lol.

Too much stitching for me = sore eyes and tendinitis. I wish I could stitch enough to get to that point :( Not enough time for stitching.

"I just want to finish the color" seems to get me too a lot of the time. "Finishing the page" is the longest one though . . . Been up to 1 am before on that one. If I am really tired though I do pack it up for the night. I too have been visited by the :anotherfrog: when I stitched when I was sleepy.

Yup! Have done that several times Have also found cross stitches going over three squares instead of 2 as well on the following morning..courtesy of the :anotherfrog: LOL ..But this doesn't stop me from going on late into the night cos its so addictive and fun!! I'm at my sewing until 3am on most Friday nights and 2am Saturday nights!!That's when I really pack it in.

There's no such thing as too much stitching, I believe!! only too little time!!! :ratherbe:
