Thank you Mabel for the compliment on the frame

it's one I've had for a while and I thought it might be too light for this sampler so was prepared to get some woodstain to darken it but figured I'd give it a try without first - I'm really pleased with how it looks, on reflection I think staining it would have made it too dark.
Nettie, lacing it was much easier than I expected it to be - I might have preferred to try it for the first time on something smaller though, easier to control (this one got pretty heavy!) so I'd say - give it a go! I just used regular sewing machine cotton to do it, because all the instructions I've read online and in books and magazines say to use "strong cotton" and that worked just fine.
Mabel, I've not only chosen my next project, I've started it...and finished it. It was really quite small! I'll post pics in my "kitty's pretties" thread
