Beautiful work Mabel! I like how you've ordered the bands for your bell pull, very good eye! Excellent finish on Lustrum, and good start on Percival! :applesauce:

Some progress on Percival -- all stitching, beads and bling done apart from cutting and weaving -- the photos don't do the beads and bling justice, alas :-( but I like how it's developing

I saw a pic on the internet of a piece of hardanger where the eyelets were done in variegated thread, and I thought I'd try something similar, using the variegated thread for the filling stitches as well. Here it is, on 28ct opalescent Lugana, using DMC perles (#5 and #12) and Gloriana Princess Perle Petite, plus a flower charm. :thinks: :thinks: the only thing I don't understand is why it came out slightly rectangular instead of square, when I stitched it in a hoop...

Did the cutting on Percival, and also poked all the cut ends away (though when I looked at the photograph close up I noticed one had escaped!) -- now all that is left is the needle weaving and filling stitches

Mabel, great work. I'd discovered eyelets done in variegated colours when doing a design by Nordic Needlecraft (the Inverness group). It's really effective for just little spots of colour without jeopardising a classic white on white design. You can see it on a piece in my gallery.
That square white design would look very Christmassy by using Caron Holiday (red and green, basically) as the eyelets and putting a seasonal charm in the centre to replace the little flower... :thinks: :P Is it your own design, or did you find it somewhere online?

Serinde, I charted it myself, but it is such a basic design (square with an uncut diamond in the middle) that I would hesitate to call it "my own design" -- but I didn't take it from a mag or online or anything, no, just the idea of the variegated eyelets.
I've got a Needlepoint Inc silk in variegated red and green which I may try; I charted about 5 variations on a theme :-) so I won't get bored with the same one over again.

PS Had a look at your gallery -- reminded once again of the beautiful work you've done! -- and saw that the one I got my eyelet inspiration from is the same one you did :-)! I've been uhmming and ahh-ing whether to get the chart, it's a lovely design, but I've got so much lined up already :-( it's gone on my long-term wish list :-)
