OES bracelet/Finished!

Post by mig-3 »

Image

I finally got over the hump and stitched the stars. They look ragged now, but the centers will be filled with beads to form an inverse pentagon and edged with gold. Also, gold beads for a period after each letter. Now to stitch the buttonhole/blanket stitch around the edge.

Thanks, y'all. Keep your fingers crossed that I can pick up the correct tension for the blanket stitches.

The design has come out great, and I like the use of satin stitch -- the beads will finish it off just perfectly! Good luck with the tension on your buttonhole edge :x: :shamrock:

I'm finally back on this. I'm 3/4 of the way around with the buttonhole stitch. I'm not happy with my work at this point. I've decided to proceed, poor stitching and all. I don't have the patience to perfect my buttonhole stitch and still finish the project. With luck I will finish it tomorrow and post pics.

Finally finished. I'm not at all happy with it. I'll have to chalk this one up as a learning experience. I will give it to the woman I promised it to, only to prove to her that I actually tried.

I think it is lovely. Noone will look at the length of stitches, Jarvis, the overall effect is great! :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

Remember that we are our harshest critics. You have done a lovely job of a difficult task. It came out beautifully and she should wear it with pride. Bet you get asked to do more of those.

Absolutely! The design is great, I love the effect of the beads, and the bracelet finish is really good. What if the buttonhole stitches are not absolutely even -- it's a fiend of a stitch anyway! So :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: I say!

Thanks, everyone. I had to stop by work for a few minutes today. I had left the bracelet on the recipient's keyboard on Monday. When I saw her today, she ran and gave me a big hug. She really seems chuffed with it. A couple of other coworkers said she about cried when she saw it and was showing it off, so I'm calling this a success after all. :D
