Help this idiot out. :x

Post by noctifyre »

Back in my younger years, when I was an IDIOT, I decided one day to have the bright idea to take all the floss out of unfinished/screwed up xstitch kits and shove them all in one bag. :s Yeah, not very bright of me i know... of course, I threw away all the patterns, something which haunts me to this day in regret. :roll:

ANYWAYS.

I was sifting through the floss today and came across one containing various shades of green which I know were all from the same kit - and I remember it involved birds and a possible winter scene. :| Thing is, can't quite remember WHAT the pattern/kit was... yet I know it was one my mom originally bought for me to make for her. >_>;

So, yeah. None of the searches I did for "winter birds" on eBay came up with one that even looks remotely like it... and I have a feeling that once I saw it, I would recognise it.

There's a good chance that it involved multiple birds, too, not just chickadees.

So... anyone have any possible ideas? :thinks: I know it probably involved a lot of green (leaves) and brown/black (trunk)

Have you tried looking at http://www.123stitch.com" target="_blank to see if you can find the name of the kit.... then you can do a search on ebay!

Checking it out now... and I'm finding myself wishing I lived in Britain yet again. :( UK seems to have all the best pattern/kits/majority of xstitching stuff comparatively to the US. :thinks:

I was looking for bird patterns not that long ago. None that I came across were heavy into greens though. But I was mainly looking for cardinals and blue jays in winter scenes, not chickadees. Here are a few kits I still had the bookmarks for if they may possibly be what you were looking for.

2 cardinals sitting on a snow covered pine branch. I am in the middle of stitching this one. About 3/4 way done and kept running into problems. So I put it down for now but will finish it. There are maybe 5 shades of green in this one.

Hummingbirds and a branch of pink and white flowers. Not wintery but LOTS of green in this one. I actually have owned this kit for a while. Its on my list to be stitched this year.

A group of various birds. This one is almost 2 ft. long. Birds on a brownish birch branch. Not a lot of greens with this one though, more browns.

Winter chickadees sitting on snow covered pine branches. This one is stamped which is why I went with a different design. I couldnt find just the chart for this one. And I couldn't tell how much of it was stamped and how much of it was stitched.

Wintery, with red berries framing the image. Cats looking and a window sill of birds. Looks like a lot of shades of greys though, some greens with the holly branches.
