Valentine Biscornu: Mailing

Post by starchild202 »

So. . . would anybody be up for a Valentine themed biscornu exchange? I am looking for an excuse to make another biscornu.

Theme: Valentine/Romantic
Size: 3 - 4.5 inches (any size within that range)
Fabric: Any - stitcher's choice
Threads / Bling: Something a little extra, like metallic thread, bead work, etc.
Mailing: Get proof of postage (receipt)

Final sign-up date: 15th January 2011
Finished date: 28th of January 2011
Mail out date: 1st February 2011

- All participants must have posted to say their biscornu is completed by the finish date.

- Any participant who has failed to post saying they have finished stitching by that date will be assumed to have pulled out.

- The list detailing who each participant will send to will be posted 29th January, leaving plenty of time for the sender to get the address of their recipient.

- Anyone who doesn't have their location on their profile, can you please mention where you are, so that it's easier for me to work out for those who wish to post only to specific places.

I borrowed and adjusted Kell's rules from the Christmas biscornu exchange.

Here is the final list and the order we will be sending to"

I have wanted to make one of these for so long now, but I think I better practise first as it may not be fair on the recipient!!

As a matter of interest – do you design your own or normally follow a chart/pattern in Biscornu exchanges?

I'm interested, what are the poting dates?

Ali, I think it is up to the stitcher. I know we have a lot of creative designers on the forum who design their own, but I always stitch from a pattern for the exchanges. I'm too intimidated to design something myself, especially if it's for a deadline and something to give to someone else! :)

Okay here is what I am thinking. I have never organized an exchange before, but i think I want to try. . . So I was think we would take sign-up until the 15th of January and post it out on the 1st of February. That gives the post-man 2 weeks to have them on our collective door steps in time for Valentine's Day. It is a little early for me to post rules and I need to get off to work, so I will do that later today (probably around 5pm Pacific Time).

I agree with Koko. I think it just depends on the person making it. I use a pattern, but I have received from someone who designed it themselves and it was lovely!

So far those interested are:

I borrowed and adjusted Kell's rules from the Christmas biscornu exchange. Does this seem reasonable and doable?
