Re: Hot off the stretcher bars...
Just caught up with this thread, and the finishes are fabulous. Needlepoint -- in common with most of the thready arts -- has really grown up over the last 20 years or so. These are stunning designs.
You might also be interested in an old book: Needlepoint from America's Great Quilt Designs by Mary Kay Davis and Helen Giammattei (Workman Publishing Company, 1974). Check it out from the library. It's well worth looking through.

They are fabulous Jarvis, and the framing is just right for them too. You should be very proud to have them so beautifully.

Re: Hot off the stretcher bars...
Threadbear, I think they are very similar. Both use a variation of the goebln stitch. Stitching them on mono-canvas lets each stitch cover a specific number of base threads, so the stitches are easily counted and placed. They're really fun to stitch and are available in a variety of designs, sizes & complexities. I'll try something more complicated one day.

Catching up with this thread - Jarvis, your work is so beautiful!! I particularly love the fist one!
I agree, that the one your friend likes is not as beautiful as the others, but it's still looks nice. Best of luck and motivation
