I'm still not allowed outside of the pub, it would seem. Still getting the same error messages, which is frustrating. How am I to keep up with forum society, I ask you? Hopefully, all will be well soon. (Perhaps I'll go and reboot the machine, since I haven't done so since yesterday...) Back in a minute...

Oh poor Serinde ! And what an odd thing, to be able to come here but nowhere else
Have you tried accessing the forum from a different computer, either one in the house or at a friend's or a library, but different from your usual one anyway -- that might give Chris another clue as to whether it is your account which has somehow got problems, or your computer.
Have you tried emptying your browser's cache? Or using a different browser? (If you usually use IE, try Firefox, or the other way round -- however, of all the browsers I use, Firefox seems to have the most trouble, so perhaps trying Chrome would be better)
Hope one of these may do the trick

Oh, the irony: can't read the thread "Forum update".

I use Safari as a browser, but have access to Explorer (haven't used it in years), and could try Firefox. Shall consult with DH when he gets home. If this has something to do with my using a Mac (but I can't be the only one, surely), then I'll never get to 10,000...
