stitching nights

Post by milkmaid »

reading angels post ,made me smile i haven't stolen any kits but ,i've starting my haed ,gridded the first page ,and was sat in what my husband calls his chair, it's under my daylight bulb so ,he gets turfed out of it a lot ,
went to make a drink and my daughter has jumped into it and is stiching the mystic fairy ,which she is loving doing
she says an hour although she says i've had it for 2 so it's only fair she gets 2 as well and then i can have the chair back to do some more of mine  ,my husband calls it musical chairs
the other day my husband took my other daughter to work and got back and laughed as he walked in the door ,kerri was stitching so was i and kerri's boyfreind also had a small kit as he had asked to have a go at , 3 of us in a line stitching ,(kerri's boyfreind has really neat backs  )
anything else like this go on in anybody else's house

The only ones I have to fight for my chair is the cats. they tend to think that my chair is the best one in the house so if I get up to go to the bathroom or for a drink or whatever they jump up and take my seat then I have to push them over to get back in.

Nice that you can all stitch together, my daughter has yet to get the stitchy bug.

I have this problem with my dogs! I try to remember to put my stitching bag on my seat when I get up, to stop them. One of them also likes to lie on the back of the chair while I'm stitching, and usually knocks my scissors etc off the arm of the chair as she jumps up. Oh, and they aren't small dogs, they are springer spaniels!

I can't wait to introduce my daughter to stitching, she's only 4 so I'll have to wait a while! Although if she had her way I would be constantly stitching Tinkerbell and Disney Princesses!

it's not as bad as it could be ,the other daughter who is away at collage doing her agri course also stitches ,so it could be 3 of us ,it is lovely to have 3 of us in the house that stich ,although the thread heaven gets spread around scissors are always down the side of someones chair ,i said to one of mine yesterday get out of that chair and let me get some stitching done shouldn't you be out partying or something
our cats are the same and as a last resort so are these

 Occasionally if I let the kids watch a movie I'll take my stitching out. If I move to check the fire or go the bathroom I can usually find a sneaky little girl in my spot. When I ask what she's doing she'll hold it up and say "My turn!" I too have a daylight lamp, and my mother stole my spot last night while hubby and I went out for dinner to do her crocheting. She wouldn't give it up after that.. I think we might be playing musical chairs now that she found out how great my lamp is

I'm hoping Xan will develop me love of cross stitching too. He likes to sit on my knee and pull the needle through the fabric for me, but he only sits for about 15-20 minutes before he wants to go and play again. That said, he IS only 2-y-o - LOL! And to be fair, he often asks to "do some stitchin'!" so we get it out for a little while most days. :)
