Okay so I am wanting to get a floor stand. I am not sure which one I want
there is one from artisan designs, I have contacted them through email with questions but haven't gotten a reply. But here is the one that I am looking at.. http://www.artisandesign.com/html/ergo_ ... iners.html" target="_blank
I don't want all the accessories that go with it just the plain stand. The price is $179
I stitch in a recliner. The Ergo is the one I really, really want. I like the on eyou chowed me but not sure that it would work with the recliner.
The Ergo stand. I have contacted the seller twice via email. I haven't heard anything back, on their site it says that d/t weather they can't guarantee shipping for 6 weeksPlust its $179.
The K's creation on is on sale right now at Joann's so I feel sorta rushed today is the last day of the sell, its $104 right now and goes back up to $145 after...BTW joanns is having a 30% off sale right now on a lot of the cross stitching stuff.
but I have found it on amazon for $114 its worth the ten dollars to research a little more I guess.
The part that, is hanging me up is that I don't want to spend this much money on a product that does not work that gonna end up under the bed collecting dust. Plus I don't know if I can learn the two handed stitching anyway haha. This is the only reason I could see using a stand of some sort.
I have various frames sitting on a shelf b/c I don't like the way the work or have a project that fits the frame. I have two scroll frames that I don't use as of now...nothing fits them. And the store brand q snap just doesn't hold the tension. I digress, but I just don't want to get this and not use it.
The price is considerable without some reviews to back it up. I could not find a like product on JoAnn's site. Where did I miss it? I am sure it will be on sale again soon. JoAnn's usually sends a 40-50% coupon in the mail remember. I did see the one
dwitt spoke of. Its the same one I pulled out from under a bed too! Must be a common stashing place for stitchers.

I have the one dwitt posted, but I don't use it very often. Actually I've thought about selling it on more than 1 occasion. I love the first stand you posted, though that is really pricey for a stand without the accessories. I'm a recliner-stitcher, so I'm going to bookmark that one and maybe in the future....

Don't let a JoAnns "sale" make you rush into a big purchase.. their Cross Stitching kits are ALWAYS on sale on their site. I check them every couple of weeks. Things have been on sale since about October. Same with Ott Lites.. ALWAYS on sale at JoAnn's online.. well I should say every other week they are on sale. I suspect the same will be true for this floor stand. It may not be on sale permanantly like the stitchy kits, but more like Ott Lites where every other week they are on sale. My suggestion is to wait and see since you're not sure. Don't rush because you see the word SALE.

Thats why I sent you those blue foamy things. If you've thrown them out, its just pieces of Rubbermaid shelf liner. Or adding another piece of fabric should help hold the tension.
I recently purchased the K's Creations Z-Lap frame and it works great. I use Q-Snaps and always had an issue with the frames not olding the Q-Snap frame securely. The secret is the extra screw in the clamp. I plan on purchasing one of the cheaper F.A. Edmonds universal craft stands and my husband is going to add the screw screw to the clamp. That in additon to a small piece of rubber backing to really hold the Q-Snap securely in place and I'll be good to go.
I stitch a lot of HUGE projects and the lap frame just isn't large enough to hold a 20x20 Q-Snap, plus with weight of the fabric. Flower Power alone takes almost an entire yard of fabric and that is one of my PHDs.
As one of the other ladies mentioned, do your research and find what works best for you and your projects. Trust me; I've acted hastily before and ended up blowing money and giving away frames than I thought possible.
I got a stand as a gift once and I was thrilled. However when I used it I found it very difficult to use as putting my fabric into it seemed to snag my stitches plus I didn't get very goon tension on it for very long, I had to keep on tightening it which annoyed me.
Do you think thats because of the type of stand it was or do all stands do that? The way you inserted your fabric was not very good. I just hated it and am back to using hoops now.
Do all stands do this to your fabric? Sorry to be so dumb and not clued up

I have those and used them and it sorta cracked the clamp part of the q snap almost like breaking the binding on a paper back book...is there a way to fix that??
