Looking for a pattern with Books and/or Library scene

Post by galmal »

Hi All,

I'm looking for a pattern or kit that would have books and/or a library scene. I've seen the "Frederick Literate" kit and I like it, but don't want a cat in the picture. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Marian

Theres two that I thought of right away for bookish/library patterns.

One is The Bookshelf sampler from Little House Needleworks. Someone is working on it now and has modified the pattern a bit, take a look in the SAL section

The other is Train of Dreams by Heaven and Earth. I think a few people may be working on this one too- take a look in the SAL section for this one as well. Not a cat in the design, but there is a pretty cute dragon riding the train.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

It depends a bit what sort of style and size you like, but I immediately thought of Little House Needlework's "the Library" (you can see it here)

Hope you'll find somthing suitable!

Thanks everyone for your input. I actually found the perfect pattern on the Scarlet Quince website. It's called "The Bookworm". Thanks Geekyrach for pointing me to their website.

I want to do this for my son who will be graduating college next year. He's minoring in philosophy and the pattern shows a man reading books from the philosophy section of a library, so it will be great.

Thanks again,
Marian

Wow! That's going to be a complicated project. Would love to watch you stitch this. Are you going to make a SAL on this one?

I'm new to the forum and am not sure what a SAL is? It is really complicated but I have about 15 months before graduation so hopefully I can finish it by then (ha, ha).

Hi Marian,
You'll notice on the main page of this forum a board called 'Stitch a long'. We call it SAL for short.
Here we can make a thread for our latest work and talk about it and put up progress pictures and then everyone can comment and offer support or advice if needed, but it is SO motivating to get cheered on by everyone.

Why not start a thread for this project in there and then you'll benefit from the support and we'll all have the pleasure of watching your project grow.

It's a great project. I'd love to see a Stitch A Long for it as well. If you can do this in 15 months you're a better woman than I =} Go fo it!
Myst..
