AOY - Helter Skelter

Post by corby_stitcher »

Well after making :ribbit: on my current projet, and can not for love nor money work out where i went wrong, ive decided to start on a couple of charts for my wife to put up on the playroom wall.
First up is the, AOY Helter Skelter. Now this should be stitched on 16 count aida, but ive decided to stitch it on 14 count.

And here is how far ive got after 3 days.

Excellent start, what size will this be when it is finished as it is done on 14 count. I think that all her designs are normally done on 16 count and I have never thought to change the size by doing them on a different count, what a good idea.

That will look great in a playroom, and should be easy enough on 14 count! :applesauce:

Rosemary, below is a picture of part of it stiched on both 14 count and 16 count. The finished size on 16 count is 8" x 10" so im guessing that on 14 count it would be around the 12" x 14" mark.

I think with this particular picture the additional size will be excellent. Sometimes some of the finer detail is not so obvious in some of the pictures when you stand a little away from them. I like working on 14 count and have never ever thought to change the fabric when I have done her designs. Mind you for my Christmas present quite a few years ago my eldest daughter gave me a big box of frames for my AOY kits so I would have messed up her present if I changed the fabric. I think I have a least doubled my collection since then though.

Managed to get quite a bit done on this yesterday. Also im not at work now till Tuesday, so if all goes to plan, i should get the helter skelter finished by the time i go back. I have hit a small problem along the way, which is, the brown threads seem to be faded which came with the kit. But luckily i have all the colours i need in my stash box.
