Kell's Korner 2011

Post by kell »

Thought I'd be just as well starting up my own SAL thread for the year...

I have a few small finishes so far from the Crazy January Challenge:

Oh B*gger Subversive Sampler:

2011 Band Sampler:

I'm thinking of making Oh B*gger into a cushion and I'll be hanging 2011 Band sampler as a bell pull hanging.

Great finishes Kell -- I'm not really subversive enough to do the new urban cross stitch :-) but apart from the naughty word it looks very attractive  !

I recently got a lovely little stitching box with a section in the lid for a stitched piece, so I designed a Quaker Alphabet Sampler for it. It's stitched on sand-coloured 28-count Quaker cloth in Threadworx 1089, 1 over 1.

I think maybe this is a British-only naughty word? I wasn't sure why it was called a subversive sampler at first

No, I think it's a pretty universal one. It's, well, this is a polite forum, so I don't really want to say, so I'll leave you with this link to the dictionary definition (HERE). It's a word I'm afraid I use a fair bit, although not within earshot of my toddler son - LOL!

Some wonderful finishes, I really like the way you turn them into useful and decorative things like the pomander and cards :applesauce: :applesauce: !
