I have several HAED's on the go and on various counts of fabric. First of all no matter what size fabric you are using besides making the picture huge if you use a smaller count the detail is still there. I only do full crosses. I haven't tried tenting but (please don't hate me) to me there is just something about only doing a half of the cross kinda like cheating. It is named cross stitch for a reason.
On my 25 count I am using 1x1
On my 22 count I am using 2x1
I also have an 18 count that I am using 2x1 but I may redo that whole project on 22 count I haven't decided yet.
As far as the sale goes I was doing so good because there wasn't anything that grab my eye until the releases on the 17th and I bought a Wall piece.

I've been thinking about this, and it makes a lot of sense. Another thing I've noticed when doing tent to full stitches is that there IS a slight variation in coloring...even if the fabric is fully covered. Now that I have the actual fabric I'll be using I'm going to test again.
