Hardanger Question

I'm looking at various threads online, mainly Caron Wildflowers, and I had a few questions for the experienced ones. It says that you can use two of the threads for hardanger. I assume that's the satin stitch portion. And then would I use just one thread for the filling?

One of the pages shows equivalents to the Perle cotton you would normally use with hardanger.

In general:

If you are stitching on 22ct cloth (or 20ct lugana), use one strand of Watercolours for the kloster blocks, satin stitch and all the other surface stitching. Use one strand of Wildflowers for the needle weaving.

If you are stitching on 25ct or 28ct, use Wildflowers for surface stitching. Not sure what you would use for needle weaving, as the Wildflowers might be too thick, since it's between an #8 and #12 pearl cotton.

I've used one strand/ply of Watercolours for Kloster blocks/satin stitch and Wildflowers as it comes (single-strand) for filling stitches, cable stitch, back stitch and so on on 22ct and 25ct -- I actually like using Watercolours on 25ct as the coverage is so satisfying. On 28ct you could either still use Watercolours for the kloster blocks, although it gets a little cramped, or use Wildflowers (or Impressions) for the Kloster blocks and a single strand of Waterlilies (their stranded silk) for the filling stitches.
