Hair Brushes (yes, OT)

Post by talenaya »

Just a little fyi, I'm funny about MY hairbrush.

I have thick, unruley, wavy hair. Trying to detangle it in the morning can be difficult. Well I woke up this morning to find my hairbrush was missing! It seems my mother had "borrowed" it sometime during the night and promptly lost it (not a new thing -her losing things). She offered the use of hers (now why did she take mine?) and I agreed. I was running in down when I hit a particular set of knots and the brush broke off! I'm mean literally flew off leaving me holding the handle!

Lesson learned: Do not take another hairbrush.

I'm really hate people using my hairbrush too, especially when they leave their hair in it afterwards. Eeugh! I know it's a bit of a weird dislike but I'm just averse to other people's unattached hair!

LOL. My problem is finding a brush that detangles my hair with hurting it of needing a boat load of de-tangler since most turns my hair from dry to oily. My hair is very temperamental. It was worse when I was a kid and it was curly instead of wavy.

I hate people taking my things away without asking and not returning them afterwards :/
Unfortunately no one is able to take my brush, because I don't have one :D
I'm using combs made of horn, I have three different ones, a coarse one, a very fine one and one in between. My hair is usually a lot of work since it is waist-long and very thick. I'm always thinking about cutting it, but in the end I love my hair to much for that
I hope you can manage to find a suitable brush soon!

I feel your pain, truly. I have thick, curly red hair that I can literally do nothing with but brush it (afro, anyone?) and stick it in a ponytail. I look awful with short hair, so until I learn to french braid or suddenly have the desire to spend hours every morning with various hair manipulation machines, that's what I do.

To date, I have broken 17 hairbrushes. I started counting in high school when my mother complained. My latest one has lasted 3 years, but only because it's mostly metal. :)

Curse of the redheads, Ketta. I just find it funny that her brush got broke after nicking mine. Never would have happened if she would of just used hers.

I did find were she lost my brush.

My mother is a hair-brush stealer as well! I have a certain type of brush that I like to use. I bought one to keep at my brother's for when I was helping him. She took it home during one of her turns there. So I bought another one. She took that one home as well. :x So I bought a THIRD one and kept in my over night bag. She "borrowed" it while she was in the hospital and didn't have anything with her.

She now has a nice stock of my hair brushes...and can't find any of them.
