Starry Night WT - UPDATED 8th May

Post by Carole »

I've made a start on Starry Night with Tardis but it's taking me a while to get used to the amount of confetti so it's slow going at the moment. I'll post a photo of my progress when there's a little more of it to show but for now here's a photo of my starting stash. This is most of the threads, all DMC. I'm in love with the colours!

Image

I've stitched bias binding all around my fabric to hopefully prevent fraying, as this is going to take a long time to complete, and I've tried gridding for the first time. I'm using 18 ct. Davosa.

Image

And finally, a reminder of what it's going to look like. Thanks to Skitzzzzz for charting it and to Terry Lightfoot for giving permission for us to use it.

This is such a cool idea! So, which Doctor do you reckon is in that Tardis? 9? 10? 11?

aren't the colours wonderful? I haven't put mine onto the stitchbows yet, they are still in a plastic ziplock, but soon.

I have 2 other projects to finish before starting this but I'm really excited about it =}. Please post progress pics =}

Great work! I've semi-gridded and I have all of the colours, just WAY too much going on right now to start. Can't wait to see your progress!

I finally have some progress to show, but not a lot of it I'm afraid. There are twenty colours used in that tiny corner, which is why it's taking so long. I'm spending as much time changing threads as I am stitching.
I'm trying to remember to take the thread the right way around at the back as I'm working over one, plus I'm railroading so that's slowing me down too.

Image

It looks as if there are a few small blocks of colour once I get out of the corner so I'll keep working towards them and I'll have more to show before I know it.

Great start! :applesauce: I know it can be frustrating. I put it on hold after my camera was stolen and picked up the one I was making for my mom. I'm trying to finish that one first before moving back to Starry Nights.

I look forward to seeing the progress though. Hang in there!

I'm in the process of kitting this one up myself (thanks again to Skitzzzzz for the charting) and can't wait to start. It is the biggest of my projects to date.

I look forward to seeing your progress Carole - it will look amazing when finished :)
