DMC as they are the easiest to find at the LNS's here and also I have never found them to run or fade as I have heard others may. Anchor is also a good quality thread.

As for fabric I use Charles Craft the most as it is the easiest to find but I enjoy working on overdyed fabric and when I am working with my waste canvas I use everything but the best to take the thread is cotton.

I use DMC for the most part, but I like to experiment with different speciality threads

I use mainly DMC, since that what most designs call for, but sometimes I'd use metallic or other specialty threads for some added effects.

I tend to avoid Anchor as I prefer DMC. I like Madeira. I don't mind trying out various hand dyed lots when I find colours I like.

I use DMC and metallic threads when they are called for. DMC seems the easiest to find and I know that it washes well. My afghans are Charles Croft (the Alphabet afghan as it is the easiest to count on and is a good quality fabric). I'm one of those that is afraid of the linens and evenweaves

I use any number of different threads. Mostly DMC and Anchor, but I have freebies from magazines too, some Kreinik silks (just a few left now), and some gorgeous hand-dyed ones such as Dragon Floss and Dinky Dyes. I love trying new threads. In fact, the only ones I don't really like are metallics and rayons.

Mostly DMC, both stranded cotton and perle and also coton a broder and floche; various silks and hand-dyed threads. I  Caron threads, and Gloriana silks (stranded and perles) but unfortunately they are so very expensive :-(

I always used DMC as they were the easiest to buy and usually a good price. Then I moved to France.

Don't get me wrong- I love it here, but thread and fabric is sooooo expensive. I've now switched to Venus threads as they are only 90cents (about 80p) which is half the price of DMC.

If you wanted Anchor I can let you have it for 3 pence a metre.
