I'm so happy that everyone was able to get out safely. Even though a your possessions are gone you have proven with your first project that all that truly matters is the ones you love most. I have seen a picture of your chart and I must say that it's superb and I wish I could've come up with that. Your wife is beautiful and I'm sure she will be at a loss for words with your project for her.

As well it's nice to have another male stitcher on here. It's intimidating at first because of the label put on anything with a needle as a "woman's hobby" and as you've stated it's just a state of mind you have to get over. It took me a bit to be confident enough to bring my cross stitch mags out at work to read. It's hard as I work driving the biggest trucks and equipment in the world and 80% of the people out here are guys. A good thing too is my fiancé stitches as well and that's one of the first things we ever had in common.

I can't wait to see the first of many progress pics in your SAL thread, I've got my beady eyes on such a touching project.

Hi Bob, glad to know you and your family were evacuated and are safe. I hope you're able to finish your project for your wife, that's such a great idea. Good luck with it!

btw, if you're interested in photography as well, I'm a member at this site, it's helped me a lot. (I'm not saying you needed help, but I did!)

Hey, Bob, and welcome to the forum from the West of Scotland! We do have guys around, and I believe there is a pool room, complete with bad ventilation and peanuts, around the back of the Stash & Grab (http://www.crossstitchforum.com/viewtop ... =4&t=10978" target="_blank" target="_blank), through the double doors on your right. Don't suppose you'd consider making some beer for us, so that we can upgrade to a micro-brewery..? Your first project sounds an excellent one. Your recent posting sounds like it hotted up nicely. /sarc/ Who cares about worldly goods when your family and you are safe?

Hi Bob and Welcome from Australia.

So glad to know you and your family are safe and away from all the horror going on in Lybia and other parts of the world.

Congratulations on taking up cross stitching and I love your first project. You wife is so beautiful and I am sure it will help you to feel closer together. Does your wife stitch? If not perhaps you can introduce her to your new hobby when you meet up again.
