Design for Confirmation

Post by XandraS »

My cousin is being confirmed in May and I wanted to stitch her a card, but I have no idea what kind of motifs would be appropriate. I'm not christian myself so have no idea what to stitch, I'd like it to be traditional.

Thanks for any help :)

As you want to do a card you will want to keep it small and traditional. I did praying hands with her name and date of confirmation for our Catholic neighbour and she was delighted. Also other ideas are a nice cross, a bible, picture of a church all of these are appropriate and with their details added makes a great keepsake of the occasion.

I did a small Hardanger cross for a dedication (when a new baby is welcomed into the church but not baptised). That was really quick to do but it was much appreciated.

Thanks ladies, I definitely have more of an idea of what to stitch now. Quite tempted by the hardanger, it doesn have the added appropriateness of my cousin being Norwegian, although not sure this should be my first hardanger design :? I'll let you know how I get on.

Mabel, I love your hardanger cross, it looks great. I never tried hardanger, I think I must learn soon.
